Hardly a mine, building site or farming property across the country operates without the involvement of Caterpillar construction I equipment. And, following the release of its new, safety certified CAT~? range of industrial footwear, it seems that CAT~? boots will soon enjoy the same'must-have'status in worksites nationally. First established in the United States, the 100-year-old Caterpillar brand has become an international construction industry byword. Already sold in some 150 countries throughout the world, and consistently ranking in the top five -work shoe brands in the United States, the CAT~? boot range was first introduced to Australia about 15 years ago. It was not until Australian company Pacific Brands gained distribution rights for the brand that its profile began to rise, following development of a two-pronged marketing campaign, which focussed on the street lifestyle end of the fashion market, and critically, the grass roots industrial. As Sean Chrisp, Brand Manager for CAT Footwear, explains, the key to success in the latter market is certification to the stringent Industrial Footwear Standard, AS/NZS 2210.3.
