Next generation manufacturing systems

摘要

This brief paper sums up the main points of two major studies in the USA of next generation manufacturing systems /1,2,3,4/. The speed and intensity with which global social, economic and technical drivers are impacting business is forcing manufacturing industries to define new aims and adopt new practices. The paper discusses the drivers of change, then summarizes the new aims of a manufacturing business and ten major operational subsystems required to implement those aims.
