摘要

We have successfully prepared a layered nickel manganese oxide of LiNi_(1/2)Mn_(1/2)O_2 (a=2.89 A and c=14.30 A in hexagonal setting) and shown that this material may be a possible alternative to LiCoO_2 for advanced lithium batteries in terms of the operating voltage, rechargeable capacity, cycleability, safety, and materials economy.
