DIVERGING-INCISION-TECHNIQUE FOR REPAIR OF POST-OPERATIVE STENOSIS OF RECONSTRUCTED ANAL PASSAGE IN CALVES

Fourty-eight calves of either sex were presented forcorrection of imperforate anus. Out of these, 14 calves (9 females and 5 males) had stenosis of the reconstructed anus and were presented for reoperation between 3 and 6 weeks of age. Two calves were presented again for the third time at 3rd and 5th months of age to relieve the stenosis. In all, the anal passage was very narrow with very little or no defecation. The calves were anorectic, debilitated and toxaemic.
