Economics of dairy farms with imported cows.

This study determined the impact of imported cows on Turkish dairy farms. Results showed that milk yield per cow and gross product value of projected [sic] dairy farms (n=24) that have imported breeds were 67.4% and 38.3% higher, respectively, than those of non-projected [sic] farms (n=46). On the other hand, intensive use of inputs increased milk production costs by about 26.3% higher in the projected farms. Moreover, estimated profitability and productivity ratios indicated that non-projected dairy farms were more profitable and productive than projected dairy farms..
