Most of the oesophageal obstruction in bovines are in cervical! region (Shivaprakash et al., 1998; Veena et al., 2000 and Veeraiah et al., 2003) while thoracic oesophageal obstruction is rare. Due to difficulties in thoracic oesophagatomy, alternative methods for its management have to be given preference in ruminants. The present communication describes thoracic oesophageal obstructions in a working bullock and a buffalo calf and their surgical management.
