Ciinicoetiopathological studies have been made on outbreaks of gangrenous dermatitis at different poultry farms in Madhya Pradesh. The disease appeared in the age group of 8-12 weeks with an average mortality of 7.5 percent. The clinical symptoms and gross and histological lesions of the disease have been described. Bacterial culture resulted in isolation and identification of Staphylococcus aureus alone from one farm and with Clostridum perfringens and Escherichia coil from other farms. Overcrowding, high relative humidity and cannibalism appeared to be the predisposing factors.
