Treatment of sarcoptic mange in rabbits with Dermocept cream.

Adult and juvenile stages of Sarcoptes scabiei were identified in skin scrapings from 4 laboratory rabbits kept for tick breeding. The lesions were treated twice daily for 7 days, after washing in water, with Dermocept cream, a herbal remedy. The lesions were healing, there was no pruritus, and skin scrapings were negative after 9 days; hair regrowth was observed in 2 weeks.
