The day when only a very few natural fibres were available,all with well-known properties,are over.Today many fibres,natural and man-made,all with their own advantages and constraints are available and the textile technocrat,in order to obtain the best fabric for a particular purpose at a price suitable for that purpose,often finds that one can obtain the best results by blending fibres so as to obtain the mixture of the characteristics of the individual fibre in the blended fabric.The time and literature have shown that the most successful man-made fibres are those,which permit themselves to be spun,woven or knitted and most important,which gives a wide blending potential.
