India is poised to surpass the US in terms of annual cotton output if its cotton yield enhancements continue,according to a report undertaken by the US Agriculture Department(USDA).China is currently the biggest producer of cotton internationally,with the US ranking second,followed by India.The USDA says that India's cotton crop yields have risen steadily since 2002,primarily from due to the introduction of genetically modified cotton.
