The Indian textile sector has to be technology driven in order to retain its position as a major player in the global textile trade.This was stated by the Textiles Secretary,Mr S B Mohapatra at the inaugural session of the brainstorming session on Technology Innovations in Textiles' recently.He said that the end of the multifibre agreement has thrown up a unique opportunity and we have to increase our share of global textile trade to 10%.This,he said,is not possible with the existing technology.
