POSITIVE RESULTS FOR FIRST UK NEREDA PILOT PLANT INSTALLATION

Although in the initial stages of the pilot, Imtech Water, Waste and Energy (Imtech), has found that early indications from the company's first Nereda pilot plant are looking very promising. Working closely with United Utilities' Innovation Team, Imtech has installed the pilot plant at United Utilities' largest wastewater treatment works, Davyhulme in Manchester. One of the largest wastewater treatment plants in Europe, Davyhulme opened in 1894, and serves a population of 1.2 million. The Davyhulme Nereda pilot plant is the first to be installed in the UK and it is believed that the technology could bring significant change to future wastewater management.
