Energy Recovery facility will reduce waste to landfill, save money and create jobs

Peterborough's Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) has been completed and is now operational. The plant will be operated by Viridor and forms part of the UK's largest network of landfill diversion and energy recovery facilities. Making a significant step towards its zero waste ambitions, Peterborough City Council is now able to divert up to 95 per cent of its non-recyclable waste from landfill, instead using it as fuel to generate electricity.
