Norman Collett Ltd's M.D, Andy Sadler 'a master of the high wire'

When Andy Sadler graduated as an ecologist, little did he realise that he would not only be working with 'an endangered species' (fruit growers) in his 25 years with Norman Collett Ltd, but also that he would develop new skills as a 'high wire performer' as he balanced the needs of his growers with those of his customers. "We do have a superb home market, even if, as a company, we only have a 36% 'home share' of the UK supply," said Andy Sadler at the 2009 BIFGA Technical Day held at Bewl Water Sailing Club. "What is needed now, and certainly in the future, is a consummate understanding of our product, the market place that we serve and the consumer who eats our product, and, most importantly, be able to recognise an opportunity presented to us to improve on all of those when it happens".
