As this variety enjoys a wide range of outlets, from fresh fruit sales, catering packs of sliced and diced fruit, to fresh juice and cider sales, the pruning systems adopted by growers have to be tailored to these outlets. Experience leads us to recognise that growers either sell their fruit into one specific sector of the market, or design their tree management to achieve a mix of fruit that maximises sales (for example: 65% fresh, 35% juicing outlets, or 90% fruit processing outlet with 10% juice sales).
