Ever growing demand of mineral has demanded growth of mineral, industry. Inresult of that most of the projects have expanded their size, which in turn are operating near habitat area. Now with increased consciousness of general public it is difficult to operate the miner without super control over blest hazards. Vibration resulting from blasting has been a source of concern from the inception of the use of the explosives. While reviewing the literature available on blast induced ground vibration, author realised that the total explosive charge fired in the round along with the maximum charge weight per delay and the direction of imitation with respect to the blast site may also have some influence on the magnitude of ground vibration. Hence in order to establish their role in the variation of peak particle velocity level. This study has been carried out at Girardin Opencast Mine of Central Coal Fields Limited. (A subsidiary of Coal India Limited) The result of this study may serve as useful aid to the mining industry. Where safety and environmental concerns are paramount.
