摘要

Gypsum is a very common inorganic mineral of wide industrial applications in the production of cement. ceramic. fertilizer. pottery panels and plaster of Paris. Gypsum also occurs rarely as a bio-mineral. It crystallizes in the urine of humans due to acidic reaction. Hemihydrate of gypsum is found in statoliths. Gypsum is crystallized in silica gel under suitable pH conditions by reaction method, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA/DTA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and density measurement studies of the gel grown gypsum crystals were made.
