As research is a time-consuming and often costly endeavour, building on the best available existing knowledge rather than "re-inventing the wheel" is favourable. When initially synthesizing the literature, some key entry questions are: what are the important research questions in the field? what has been found? what areas need further exploration? would the proposed study fill a gap and better an understanding? The task of information retrieval, say for example of tuberculosis literature in e-databases has now become easier as the emergence of digitization and Internet has increased the possibility of making information available to anyone, anywhere, anytime, and in any format. Also, the number of Internet users is growing with the every passing day. The United Nations International Telecommunications Union (ITU) announced recently that by the end of 2014, there will be nearly three billion Internet users two-thirds of them from the developing world-with mobile-broadband penetration approaching 32 per cent.
