Case Study of a 3 year old Quarter Horse filly treated using a modified Wooden Shoe (Steward Air Shoe) suffering complicated Chronic Laminitis

A3 year barrel horse had been treated previously for laminitis with the use of a dorsal wall and partial solar resection with a heartbar shoeing system. The filly was extremely painful prior to the resection and shoeing, but worsened after the procedures. The owner decided to obtain further help from a referral center and their farrier applied the wooden shoes (Steward Clogs) to the laminitic feet (Fig.l).
