Steve Farr's summer jobs during school were citrus by day, working as a general laborer for the Carlton family in Wauchula, and accounting by night, working for his father. It didn't take him long to figure out which job he preferred. "I liked being outside better, and the Lord had a plan for me," says Farr. That plan included 35 years (and counting) of producing Florida citrus. After college, Farr went to work as production manager for Smoak Groves in Lake Placid, where he stayed for seven years."They gave me an opportunity when I didn't know anything," says Farr. "I cut my teeth there and went through the learning curve."
