Anisotoma castanea (Herbst) (Leiodidae), new to Ireland, discovered in Co. Tyrone

Anisotoma castanea (Herbst) is described by Cooter (1996) as "A northern, possibly exclusively Scottish, species recorded from Caledonian pine forest areas...". It is classified in Hyman (1994) as Notable B in Britain, but not considered further in this work. Alexander(2002) lists it as a slime mould feeder exclusively recorded from Caledonian pine forests. However, Hance (2011) recently reported the discovery of a single specimen from under slime mould in a large felled trunk, possibly beech, at Ashdown Forest, East Sussex. As far as that author was aware this is the only record for England.
