Volcano's effect deemed 'negligible'

THE eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull, which continues to disrupt European air travel, has only had a small impact on air quality and the environment. According to the UK's environment ministry Defra, the ash has had "no recorded impact on air quality, water quality or water supply, and no immediate concerns for animal health or crop production."
