PRESIDENT Barack Obama's administration is reconsidering the former administration's policies and moving to tighten fuel standards and CO2 and mercury emissions.Under the Bush administration,the Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)did not take CO2 emissions into consideration when approving major industrial facilities.Bush also opposed calls to limit global mercury pollution.These decisions repeatedly put the EPA at odds with environmental pressure groups;this already appears to have changed since the change in leadership.
