ICHEME has warned that proposals to allow UK universities to charge students unlimited tuition fees pose a "grave risk" to industry and young people. A government-commissioned review of higher education funding, which is expected to be broadly adopted, recommended lifting all artificial limits on the on fees charged by universities -currently capped at £3290/y ($5210/y) while raising the earnings threshold for repayments from £15,000/y to £21,000/y.
