Tests in China on the commercialization of the methanol-to-olefin(MTO)production process jointly made by CAS Dalian Institute of Chemistry and Physics,Shaanxi Xinxing Coal Chemical Science and Technology Development Co.,Ltd.and Luoyang Petrochemical EngineeringCo.,Ltd.have achieved substantial progress.A 10,000 t/a MTO commercialization test unit will be completed and put on stream at the end of this year.MTO is a chemical process technology that uses methanol synthesized from coal or natural gas as raw materials to produce low-carbon olefins through the fluidized-bed reaction similar to catalytic cracking units.
