Funds to progress Karchiga infill drilling

LONDON-based precious and base metals exploration company Orsu has received a US$5.5 million payment from open joint stock company Polymetal as an early entitlement for the deferred sale of the Varvarinskoye gold-copper project in Kazakhstan. The company says the cash settlement will help to progress its current infill drilling program as part of a definitive feasibility study at its Karchiga volcanogenic massive sulphide copper deposit in eastern Kazakhstan. The drilling program of 1700 metres at the central oxide prospect and 2000 metres at the northeast sulphide prospect began in July. Karchiga's central oxide prospect has an indicated mineral resource of 0.93 million tonnes of ore grading 1.39% copper, containing 12,868 tonnes of copper.
