For a continuous service of solar based wireless sensor systems an intelligent energy management is required. To improve the distribution of power between storage elements and load, a prediction of the incoming energy is necessary. This enables an efficient and plannable use of the energy. State of the art models for the prediction are, considering their demands for memory, computing power and number of parameters, not suitable for the use in ultra low power systems. Within this publication a procedure is described, which can be used on wireless sensor systems and allows a better planning of the operation conditions.
