AkzoNobel to Double Rotterdam Dimethylether Capacity

AkzoNobel’s industrial chemicals division has announced plans to more than double capacity for dimethylether (DME) at its Rotterdam site. The project will raise DME capacity from 20,000 m.t./year to 45,000 m.t./year by the fourth quarter of this year. The expansion forms part of AkzoNobel’s ambition to be the first sustainable green DME producer and supplier, says Ton Pichel, manager of AkzoNobel’s DME business.
