Kemira Builds Coagulant Plants at Bayer Sites in Germany and Spain

Kemira says it will build two coagulant plants in Europe with an investment of ?40 million. The plants are expected to be operational in 2012. They will be built at sites owned and operated by Bayer MaterialScience at Dormagen, Germany and Tarragona, Spain. Bayer produces isocyanates at the sites and will supply byproduct hydrochloric acid (HCl) to Kemira for coagulants pro- duction. The coagulants will be for a variety of water-treatment applications including drinking water and wastewater treatment, Kemira says.
