Australia enjoys freedom from many of the world's most damaging pests and diseases. However, there are many exotic pests and diseases that could hitch a ride to Australia on and in imported equipment. If established in Australia, they could have a detrimental impact on the country's agriculture and forestry industries, natural environment, food security and economy.
