New rainwater storage tank Standard

With the drought affecting much of Australia and the consequent heightened interest in water conservation, Standards Australia has recently released AS/NZS 4766(Int):2002 Polyethylene storage tanks for water and chemicals. A prime application of this new Standard is the storage of rainwater for drinking purposes. Mr Jacques Rohen, a member of the Association of Rotational Moulders Australasia [ARMA] & Australian Industry Group [AIG] and Chairman of Standards Australia's Committee PL-046 welcomed the publication of AS/NZS 4766 (Int): "There is a real need for this Standard; the Rotational Moulding Industry has enjoyed tremendous growth in Australia in the last 10 years. Most of this growth has been in the production of Polyethylene Tanks for water storage. This market is still expanding rapidly due to the interest in Water Conservation by Local and Stat governments around Australia. The Standard is an essential instrument in ensuring that the Industry has clear, concise guidelines to follow to enable a manufacturer to design and manufacture a product that is fit for purpose and one in which Consumer and Government authorities can have confidence.
