Rhodia has commissioned three previously announced production units at its Zhenjiang, China site. One plant makes specialty surfactants and polymers, and the other plants make guaiacol and isobornyl cyclohexanol (IBCH). Rhodia's Novecare business operates the new specialty surfac- tants and polymers unit. "After acquiring Feixiang Chemicals in 2010, the Asia/Pacific business represents one-third of Novecare's sales," says Chen Pu, v.p. and general manager, Asia/Pacific at Novecare. The plant increases Novecare's number of production facilities in China to five, he says. The guaiacol and IBCH plants are operated by Rhodia's aroma per- formance business.
