Recently, I went through a series of interviews for my first position as a creden-iialed secondary agriculture teacher. In preparation for the process, I reflected on my teacher education program. Much of the content dealt with the delivery of different teaching methods, how to support the reading and writing development of learners, managing classroom behavior, working with students with special needs, and understanding a variety of educational laws to name just a few topics. A glaring hole in my preparation, at least to my way of thinking, was how to view one's personality as an asset in the classroom.
