New nitrogen strategy helps improve crop performance

A switch to Bollgard II cotton and a new nitrogen management strategy is leading to yield improvements for Emerald cotton grower, Bradley Anderson from 'Kerry Downs'. Two years ago, he moved towards a split application strategy, using nitrogen water run through his furrow irrigation system. He now adds around 100 kg per hectare of nitrogen, split into three or four irrigations from squaring. Bradley uses Incitec Pivot Limited's liquid nitrogen fertiliser, EASY N, to effectively water run nitrogen inrows up to one km long.
