Cotton seed market review

The Australian cotron seed marker this year proved to be interesting to say the least, mainly due to recent volatility. For a long period the market remained flat, trading within a tight range of about 25 dollar to 30 dollar per tonne. That was untilearly to mid July when drought markets took effect and drove domestic values to their current levels. The commencement of trade pricing, at about this lime last year, saw only modest levels -- around 210 dollar-220 dollar per metric tonne delivered Brisbane or S180 ex-gin, but this was a starting point none the but these concerns were alleviated by a large crop production of 3.1 million bales, which yielded approximately 950,000 tonnes of cotton seed.
