U.S. Senator Jay Rockefeller (D., WV) has introduced a bill to delay the implementation of U.S. EPA greenhouse gas (GHG) regulation for station- ary sources, the senator's office announced today. The bill would delay EPA permitting requirements for stationary GHG emissions sources, including chemical facilities, for two years, "giving Congress the time it needs to address an issue as complicated and expansive as our energy future," Rockefeller says. The rules are scheduled to be phased-in starting next year and ending around 2016, according to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson. Rockefeller sent a letter to Jackson late last month express- ing concerns about the stationary source rules, noting that they may hinder economic recovery and cost jobs.
