Reports: Indorama, Algeria sign phosphate deal

Algeria has signed three agreements with Indorama Corp. (Jakarta, Indonesia) that are valued at a combined $4.5 billion, according to local media news outlets. The frst agreement, a 51-49 joint venture (JV) between state-backed Manal (Algiers, Algeria) and Indorama, seeks to develop the Bled El-Hadba phosphate mine at Tebessa, Algeria, the reports say. A second JV, a 51-49 partnership between Asmidal-Manal and Indorama, relates to the processing of the phos- phate to produce phosphoric acid and diammonium phosphate at Souk Ahras, Algeria.
