Holyrines A and B, possible intermediates in staurosporine biosynthesis produced in culture by a marine actinomycete obtained from the North Atlantic Ocean

Holyrines A (4) and B (5), two new members of the indolocarbazole class of alkaloids, have been isolated from cultures of a marine actinomycete and their structures elucidated by spectroscopic analysis.
