Israel Chemicals (ICL; Tel Aviv) on Thursday reported a 4% drop in third-quarter adjusted Ebitda to $339 million on 12% lower sales of $1.38 billion. Adjusted operating income was down 8% at $242 million. The company says that lower sales in the quarter stemmed primarily from the sale of non-core businesses, decreased sales volumes, mainly in the fertilizers segment, the devaluation of the euro against the dollar, the fire at the SSP facility at ICL Rotem and lower bromine, bromine compounds and magnesium products sales as a result of the ramp up period following the employee strike which concluded during the quarter.
