Celanese to close VAE plant

Celanese plans to close its vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) emulsions production units at Meredosia, IL, by 15 December. The company says it will continue to supply North American emulsions customers through its facilities in Enoree, SC, and Boucherville, Quebec. Celanese has 50,000 m.t./year of VAE emulsions capacity at Meredosia, according to data from IHS Chemical.
