Lenzing Hikes Rayon Fibers Capacity in China, Mulls Production in India

Lenzing will more than double production of cellulosic fibers, to 140,000 m.t./year, at its Nanjing, China site at a cost of ?55 mil- lion ($74 million). Completion is planned in 18 months-2 years. The company will at the same time switch production of standard rayon fibers to modal fibers at its Lenzing, Austria site at a cost of ?23 million. Completion of that project is planned within 15 months. The program complements an expansion launched late last year and costing a total of ?120 million.
