A 49-year-old woman with a history of type 2 diabetes mellitus and alcoholic liver disease experienced several episodes of hemoptysis in the past 2 years. She was treated for pulmonary tuberculosis, but the treatment was not completed because of the lack of further microbiological evidence. Later, she was admitted to our medical intensive care unit because of massive hemoptysis, hemodynamic instability and respiratory failure.
