A procedure is proposed for evaluation of the residual life of welded pipelines with a volume defect which allows for the change of geometrical parameters of the defect and is based on application of the coefficient of stress concentration, cyclic properties of structural materials and operating load. This procedure enables a successful precise evaluation of the residual life of a pipeline with corrosion damage based on the allowance for the damage accumulated before its detection and in the predicted period.
