Para-Xylene (PX) market in Asia is quickly recovering, as evidenced by the very recent sharp price hike by US$100/mt in a week time, mainly due to the reduced inventory resulting from the curtailments by major PX producers on the weakened market conditions. Another reason is that the higher crude oil price raised the price for condensate and heavy naphtha, the feedstock for PX and that the price for BTX in the U.S. rose as summer vacation comes.
