TEPCO To Reduce Its Receipt Of Fuel/Crude Oils To Less Than 7 Mil KL In FY 2013

Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) plans to reduce its receipt of fuel and crude oils in fiscal year 2013 to less than 7 million KL. TEPCO expects to cut the cost to purchase fuel and crude oils substantially by placing two new coal-fired thermal power plants into service. However, it has not been disclosed how many nuclear power stations will resume operations. If TEPCO's plan goes smoothly, TEPCO's receipt of fuel and crude oil for FY 2013 will drop by 36% compared with its receipt for FY2012, which is estimated to be slightly less than 11 million KL.
