In the State of QLD, as a result of plural large-scale coal projects being put on the shelf, most of construction projects of large-scale coal terminals which were embodied at the port of Abbot Point (AP) during the times of resource bubble have got cancelled or frozen. At the port of AP, in addition to the existing coal terminal (T1: coal shipping capacity being 50Mtpa), BHP Billiton Limited and GVK Group originally decided to construct their respective own large-scale coal terminals (T2 and T3).
