Astomos Energy to Change Benchmark for Pricing Propane

Astomos Energy Corporation, Japan’s top importer of liquefied petroleum gas, recently revealed its intention thatit would change benchmark for pricing propane it supplies to domestic market from January 2017. So far Astomos hasused the Saudi Aramco monthly contract price (CP) as the benchmark FOB price. However, with increasing importsfrom the United States, it will adopt the Mont Belvieu index for pricing LPG, which is a benchmark assessment of the spotprice of LPG traded at the Mont Belvieu hub in Texas.
