Blair Athol Coal Imports By J-Power End In December-Imports during 26 years from coal output in 1984-

Imports of Blair Athol coal produced in Queensland, Australia, by Electric Power Development (J-Power) will be terminated with the shipment delivered in December. The interest in Blair Athol mine is 9.95 percent owned by J-Power and since the coal output in 1984, imports of Blair Athol coal have been continued during 26 years. J-Power has been importing about 4 million MT per year of Blair Athol coal on long term contract basis, but since the long term contract terminates and from 2011, plans to start full-fledged import of Clermont coal, deemed as a suceeding operation to Blair Ahol mine. However, coal production at Blair Athol mine will continue to be operated and its coal could be imported on spot supply basis.
