Sedgman Got Orders For Expansion Project Of UHG Coal Mine

Sedgman of Australia received orders on 20th for services of the engineering, procurement, construction and management (EPCM) to expand the 3rd stage of Ukhaa Khudag (UHG) existing coal mine of Mongolia for 24 million US dollars. The UHG is the open-pit metallurgical coal mine in the Ovoot Tolgoi coal field of South Gobi Province located 540 km south of Ulan Bator, and its coal production started in April, 2009. Its production quantity of raw coal increased by 2.1 million tons or 116.7% from the previous year to 3.9 million tons in 2010. Raw coal production is expected to be 7 million tons in 2011, 10.7 million tons in 2012, and 14.7 million tons in 2013.
