Mitsui Chemicals Closes Its OCU at Osaka Factory on Oct 30th

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. suspended operation of its 140,000 ton-per-year Olefin Conversion Unit (OCU) located atthe Osaka factory because of deterioration of profits caused by declining propylene prices. According to a spokespersonof the Company, although the OCU had been in full operation until right before the suspension, it has decided to shut theunit for less than two months until late December in the wake of the slumping propylene market.
